The first King of the City contest, summer 2007, was a best-photo contest between the teams of Ello Skateboards and Volume Skateboards. Each team had 4 riders and we also brought along photographer Heather Kelly, as well as a few HD video-cameras to capture the event.

Red Bull threw in the old Austrian-war-vehicle to haul us around as well as a bottomless cans of Red Bull for the day...

And so we were off, a group of 8 over-caffeinated skateboarders with an entourage that even Prince would be jealous of, driving around Minneapolis in a tank, and putting Brinks-Trucks to shame.

This spot is actually just a couple miles from where I grew up in Empire, MN. The landing is a bit rough, but we still got the photo.
